If you hear Da Nang you imagine the beach and the resort, But is know for a famous surf spot around the world. When you live in the beach area, you will see every day a stranger with his surfboard going to Mike beach.

We will introduce you surf information of Da Nang.

In Da Nang, even a first-timer can surf

Da Nang beach is good for beginners. Because the waves hight are about below our heads and it comes in a very good spot. Even when you want to find a wave that is good for you, you just have to move within the beach and adjust yourself.

And another charm point is there are only a few people. Comparing to other beaches, there are fewer tourists and surfers. You don’t have to care about other peoples eyes and you can simply enjoy surfing!

When is the recommended surf season?

The surf season is between September and December. It is a rainy season, but the wave gets higher and it is a perfect time to surf. But if you come between May and August, there are less rain and its tourism season so I won’t recommend to surf. If you are thinking, “I want to surf at Da Nang” come between September and February.

But, always check the weather before you go. Da Nang has days that typhoon and big rain comes, so dont forget to check.

Tam’s Pub & Surf Shop

They rent the board 5 dollars a day. Among the local stores this shop rents for a reasonable price.

If you look from outside it looks like a restaurant, but if you go in you will see surfboards. When I spoke “surfboard rental” to the attendant, he rented me right away. It is a 5-minute walk from My Khe Beach so returning the board was easy too.

Surf Shack

There is a place that is well-known called Burger Bros, and besides, there is Surf Shack. This store too is 5-minutes from My Khe Beach and the access to the beach it’s very nice.

The board rental price is from 7 dollars to 10 dollars an hour. It is expensive than Tams Pub&Surf shop but they have many great products. It was good because I could choose a short or longboard.

Chu Hotel

There is a boutique hotel right along Da Nang beach and they rent surfboards too. If you speak to the receptionist you can rent for 5 dollars an hour.
